Notice,

  1. Only electricity time keeping for KOG Kids, no result ranking.
  2. The parents or guardians must participate in the race with the kids. If no guardians, the OC has the right to refuse to check-in for kids.

Equipment:

Mountain bike and cycling helmet is mandatory for each kid and guardian in the MTB event.

Competition regulations

Hiking

  1. The parents or guardians must participate in the race with the kids. If there’s no guardian or the bibs of kid and guardian are inconsistent, the OC has the right to refuse to check-in for kids.
  2. The distance between the guardian and kid shall not exceed 20 meters during the race. The race jury is authorized to dismiss those participants (results included) who have violated the regulations.
  3. For safety reasons, the guardian must finish the race with kid participant. Or the OC will dismiss the kid’s result and kid cannot get the finish medal and certificate.
  4. Kids and guardians will receive the same number bibs and plates and shall wear and place them correctly according to the instructions given before each event.
  5. Guardians should carry a mobile phone during the race. The event’s emergency number is printed on the number bib
  6. There will be a minimum speed requirement and thus time limits. Please be aware because we must stop you at designated checkpoints if you are slower than the announced time limit for the day. Any risk and damage caused if you refuse to comply should be borne by yourself and the OC will not be responsible.
  7. Only leg power is allowed. Any kind of automatic or mechanic aids are disallowed.
  8. All participants should behave in a sporting manner at all times and shall permit any faster runner to overtake without obstructing.

  10. Only way-clearing cars, ambulances, clearing cars and media cars are allowed on the course during the races. Apart from those, no further cars are allowed on the course.
  11. The OC is authorized to shorten the race distances or cancel the event in case of force majeure.
  12. Littering zones: Genghis Khan Festival supports Leave No Trace (LNT) and will be strictly implementing its policy. Littering will only be allowed at well-marked and designated zones around the refreshment stations. Participants who are spotted throwing away bottles, cups, wrapping paper or any other garbage outside these zones will be disqualified from the result list of that day’s event.
  13. Clothes deposit: participants can drop off extra clothing at the secured designated area at start/finish arena. Please use the stickers with your number bib print to identify your clothes bag.
  14. If any additions to these regulations become necessary, these will be publicized by the OC on-site and online.

  8. Participants are personally responsible to ensure their bikes and equipment are fit for the task.
  9. Only leg power is allowed. Any kind of automatic or mechanic aids are disallowed. The Organization Committee (OC) reserves the right to check bikes before the start of each stage. Foot peg, locks, etc. shall all be removed before the start of the event. Aero or ‘triathlon’ handlebars are also disallowed.
  10. To ensure fair competition and safety in adverse weather conditions, only mountain bikers are allowed. No road bikes, no cyclo-cross bikes or other hybrids.

KOG Kids

2019 KOG Kids includes 11 km hiking and 15 km MTB race. Kids who finish all the 2 races above can win the title of KOG Kids.

  1. Kids must finish the race within the closing time.
  2. The KOG Kids competition is subject to the specific regulations of the MTB and Hiking.
